The administrators at Chesapeake Home Health Care (CHHC-MD) will be participating for the sixth straight year in a back-to-school fair event benefitting the Prince George’s County Public School System. In a few short weeks, kids everywhere will be going back to school. Back-to-school time presents a challenge for most parents, but it especially presents a unique set of difficulties for the parents of children with special medical needs.
“This will be our second time participating in the Back-to-School Fair and we are delighted to stand beside other organizations and vendors who desire to see students start the year off right and with the necessary supplies needed to make the school year successful. Chesapeake will be handing out free lunch bags and hand sanitizers to all upcoming students at this event.” -Laseandia Harley, Co-CEO/Administrator
The community event will help to ensure that parents and students have what they need to successfully start the new school year. In addition to making sure students get the required immunizations, there will be information about school registration, uniforms, and even a backpack giveaway with school supplies. Students must be in attendance to be entered into the giveaway.
CHHC’s motto is to “Provide Service To A Community That Deserves Attention” we are an advocate of community fairs, community resources and various activities that support the family and the medically-fragile community.
For the past seven years, CHHC has assisted the county by providing one-on-one private duty nurses (LPNs and RNs) to various specialty schools and other schools in the PG County School System for students who have medically fragile needs. Their nurses work within the Special Education Program and the student’s IEP (Individual Education Plan) to ensure that he/she can receive classroom interaction and an education that all children deserve.
The event will be held on Saturday, August 6th at the Show Place Arena located at, 14900 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Registration is not required.
