Radiohead’s hometown is Abingdon, Oxfordshire in England. This band formed three decades ago in 1985. Band members are: Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwood (bass), Phil Selway (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals). Fans of Radiohead will hope to hear some of their classic tunes such as “Karma Police,” “Idioteque,” “Street Spirit” and “Paranoid Android” when they perform at the Shrine Auditorium. Radiohead’s breakout single was “Creep” from their debut album Pablo Honey which was released back in 1992.
The Shrine Auditorium opened way back in 1926 in Los Angeles. In 2002 this venue underwent a much needed $15 million dollar renovation that brought it up to 21st century standards. This venue can seat approximately 6,300 people at any given performance. Some of the events that have been held at this venue over the years include: The Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, University of California Trojans basketball team, the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball, Miss Universe Pageant and the MTV Video Music Awards. This venue will undoubtedly be packed to the rafters when Radiohead comes here in August.
