Known for being the drummer for the legendary group, the Eagles, Don Henley is also a solo superstar that has been impressing fans around the world. The talented performer just finished the Eagles’ farewell tour that lasted two years and is planning to hit the road again in October as part of a solo tour. The tour will be held to lend support to his solo album, Cass Country, which is scheduled to be released one month prior to the kickoff of the tour. The 68-year-old Henley has been in the music business since 1970 and in 1971 began his time with the Eagles. During his time with the group he was the drummer and both co-vocalist and lead vocalist. He was the lead vocalist on some of their greatest hits as a group including “Hotel California,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “The Long Run,” “One of These Nights,” “Best of My Love,” and “Desperado.”
After the Eagles broke up, Henley embarked on his own solo career and in 1982 released his first solo album, I Can’t Stand Still. The album peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 album charts and was certified Gold in the United States after selling more than 500,000 copies. Two years later, he released Building the Perfect Beast, which earned Platinum certification three times for selling more than three million units in the United States and his next album, The End of the Innocence, earned six Platinum certifications.
When fans head out to their local venue to see Henley perform live, they are seeing one of the greatest musicians of this era. As a member of the Eagles, Henley has earned induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the group is considered the best selling American band of all time and also has six Grammy Awards, six No. 1 albums and many other accolades.
