The undefeated Clemson Tigers have clinched the ACC Atlantic Division title with their recent win over Florida State. The 2015 Dr. Pepper ACC Football Championship game will happen on December 5th in Charlotte. The Tigers will face the winners of the ACC’s Coastal Division at the Bank of America Stadium. It will be the sixth year in a row for this annual game being held in Charlotte at the home of the Panthers.
The Bank of America Stadium has a seating capacity of over 75,000 and it opened up nearly 20 years ago in 1996. It is the home stadium for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. This busy venue not only hosts NFL games every fall, it is also a mecca for many other varied and interesting events such as concerts and soccer games. Soccer fans in Charlotte have been treated to a multitude of international soccer matches including CONCACAF and the International Champions Cup. The Rolling Stones performed here in 1997 during their “Bridges to Babylon Tour.” Interestingly, this venue also hosted a Billy Graham crusade during its first year in 1996.
