The event was held at the open foyer of the Starhill Gallery (Kuala Lumpur) on the evening of 8th June 2018. The VIP invitee list included a group of 30 young children from the Akademi Tahfiz Darul Abrar.
A sumptuous Buka Puasa (breaking the fast) feast for the children, was hosted by Navneet Goenka CEO GLITZKOIN and other prominent business personalities. The ADUN from Meru (Selangor) YB Ustaz Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar, also graced the occasion.
The kids were dressed in their Ramadhan finery and enjoyed the Middle Eastern cuisine and soft drinks, provided at the feast. The CEO mentioned that this was a part of the effort to spread festive cheer and ensure that, underprivileged members of the society are not left out of such an important occasion.
The excitement for the kids stretched on to the very last minute as they took turns to march up the stage and receive their traditional ‘goldie bag’, from the GLITZKOIN CEO. Most of them could not hold their excitement and could be seen, hurrying back to their seat to take a quick glance at their gift.
The official accompanying the children thanked the organizers on behalf of the Academy. In her words ‘I don’t think that some of these kids have seen such food before …. you could see their eyes light up …. like kids entering a candy store ….’.
Navneet Goenka on his part thanked the invitees and assured his commitment to similar events in the future. He felt that the event was a big success saying that, ‘This is the first time that we have organized the Ramadan feast for the needy and underprivileged. We are truly delighted to see our customers, staff and managers join the occasion and mark the significance of fasting and camaraderie … by the look of things, we will certainly make this an annual affair’.
