VANCOUVER – August 23rd, 2018 – What started as a vision to promote multiculturalism in Vancouver in 2017 has evolved into Canada’s first Multicultural Parade.
Starting on August 23rd and going till the 26th, this year’s Harambecouver will feature four amazing days of programming and celebration. The brainchild of Kayode Fatoba and Kombii Nanjalah, HMC has emerged through a strong partnership between Skynation and Great Lakes Network.
Launched in 2017, HMC became Canada’s first multicultural Parade placing a focus on diversity and reconciliation. While this year’s production boasts a ton of amazing attractions, one component of the festivities that’s already creating attention is HMC’s #CVLTUREFEST, while the production has suffered considerable budget cuts due to its current nascent stage, the production team is optimistic that their planning and promotion is sure to see thousands get attracted to their event production at Mainstreet Science World.
This year’s #CVLTUREFEST will be headlined by two Vancouver locals Kresnt and Ketafere. While year one of Harambecouver say the Parade slated for the side walk due to an inability to meet traffic requirements as the event could not meet city support timelines and funding requirements, this year’s production boasts new route locations and tons of community infrastructure to help it achieve it’s second year of production.
The Parade will move from 3PM to 6:30PM with marshalling commencing at Thorton Park between 12 to 3. For more information please contact kayode fatoba, CoFounder and Creative Producer of this production at 778 874 6164
