The couples’ move into their new sublet apartment was only the beginning of their troubles. Located in a misty, ghostlike town, Joanna and Jeff move into their new apartment with their baby boy. Soon after, Jeff becomes consumed with his career, forcing Joanna to raise their child alone. Her lonesome and isolation only adds to the depression she is already facing inside the haunted-feeling apartment.
“I don’t like it here. I feel like I’m going insane.”
Her seclusion leads her to uncover the hidden diary of the previous owner, Margaret. She discovers the similarity between the two; both mistreated by their husbands as they connect through feelings of pain and violent, as well as extreme loneliness.
With every page turned, Joanna begins to feel Margaret’s presence lurking in the shadows, as apartment walls begin to unleash the violent terror of the past.

Produced by an independent Canadian production house and distribution of new horror DVD releases in Canada, Black Fawn Films has explored the world of Canadian “exploitation” cinema to re-invent the Canadian genre, “canuxploitation”.
THE SUBLET stars Tianna Nori (“The Demolisher”) as Joanna and features Mark Matechuck (“Almost Adults”) as Jeff, her fiancée. Krista Madison (“The Dirties”, “Operation Avalanche”) joins the cast as the ghost of the previous tenet, Margaret. THE SUBLET also features Rachel Sellen (“Silent Hill: Revelation”).
