BIT, Mesra, Announces Hosting Of International Conference on Social Equality and Empowerment in Multimedia Technology

BIT, Noida, announces hosting of the International Conference on Emerging Multimedia Technology for Social Equity and Empowerment.

The Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi), off-Campus, Noida, has announced that their Department of Animation and Multimedia will be organizing an international conference on emerging multimedia technology for social equity and empowerment from 16 to 18 March, 2017. The venue for the said event is BIT Noida Campus, Delhi-NCR.

“BIT Mesra is known for its academic excellence and has been organizing events that help nurture young minds and help them understand and analyze technological developments that affect the society,” says the spokesperson for BIT, Mesra. “We are happy to announce that we will be hosting an international conference where eminent speakers will share their views on how the benefits of emerging multimedia technology can be delivered to far-flung, remote corners of the country initiating development that will be broad based, meaningful and sustainable. Our delegates are prominent speakers are very senior academics from India and America, senior bureaucrats & scientists and industry experts who will provide a road map on how to achieve social equality through the innovative use of new and existing technology, improving the reach of digital technology to the less fortunate living in conditions of denial and deprivation.”

There are many challenges that the government faces in ensuring that emerging  technologies reach the remote corners of the country. The lack of advanced infrastructure in India’s Tier II and Tier III cities and hilly areas makes the task of taking digital technology to these areas even tougher despite the phenomenal penetration of smartphone usage in India. Multimedia technology can help deliver a practical and effective solution in addressing this major lacuna.

The conference is expected to discuss this problem threadbare and provide an effective way of addressing the issue of achieving social equity and empowerment in the area of emerging technologies.

The Chief Guest for the event is Prof. (Dr.) Todd Diacon, Provost, Kent State University, Ohio, USA. The Guest of Honour is Prof. (Dr.) Marcello Fantoni, Associate Provost, OGE, Kent State University, Ohio, USA.
