Barekini Eco Swimwear Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Produce Eco friendly Swimwear

Barekini Eco Swimwear is the name of a new line of swimwear: By using recycled fishing nets, Barekini Eco Swimwear uses recycled nylon to produce a better bikini capable of providing UV protection and a second skin feel.

Already in the final stages of production, Barekini swimwear is designed to fit thoughtfully.  All bikini bottom styles are mid-rise and curve upward on the sides so that the straps sit higher on the hips.  This avoids that plush pocket in between the waist and hip bone creating the look of a longer leg.  All bikini tops feature an adjustable band under the bust and adjustable shoulder strap to provide real support for swimming and athletic activities.

In contrast to the standard sizing of bikini tops where the entire top gets larger as the size goes up, only the coverage in the front to get larger while keeping the circumference for each size the same.  Adjustability is obtained by the support band’s 3 notches and fits bra sizes 32-36.

Retaining the idea that we have a responsibility to protect the environment, the Barekini is made from 78% Econyl and 22% Lycra Xtra Life. Econyl works in conjunction with Healthy Seas to recover discarded fishing nets from the oceans and recycle them.  This helps to reduce the amount of global waste while feeding it back into the production cycles.

The nylon from the nets is transformed through the process of regeneration into a high-quality Econyl yarn that is then blended with Lycra Xtra Life to create swimwear that is durable and retains its shape.  With an added 50+ UV protectant, Barekini bikinis are ultra-resistant to sunscreens, tanning oils, and chlorine.  The luxurious and progressive techno-fabric is defiant to the elements and extends the life of the swimwear.

Barekini stands for environmental goodness and feels a responsibility to protect the environment while providing a beautiful product, using sustainable business practices, but without causing environmental harm or creating waste.  Ten percent of all profits are donated to help keep the oceans clean and to save marine life.

The Kickstarter campaign, located on the web at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1808298526/barekini-eco-swimwear-made-recycled-nylon/description, offers pledge levels from $1 to $75, with rewards including everything from love with good karma, a Barekini 32oz Nalgene Water Bottle, a Barekini Calendar, a Barekini bikini bottom, or a Barekini bikini top.
