The 13th edition of Auto Expo 2016 The Motor Show will be held between 5th – 9th February, 2016, at India Expo Mart & Centre, Greater Noida while the Auto Expo – Components show will be put together at Pragati Maidan between 4th – 7th Feburary, 2016. The biennial event is set up jointly by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
There would be exclusive international pavilions dedicated to exhibitors from countries like China, South Korea, Canada, Japan, Germany, Taiwan and the UK, which will help in the engagement of Indian participants and participants from other countries. There would be display of components at the components show, and a dedicated pavilion for bearing manufacturers and garage equipment suppliers.
The last edition of Auto Expo saw many global launches and there were 44 India-specific launches. It’s expected that the event would be even more exciting this year. The platform provides the automotive companies a chance to showcase upcoming technologies and products, and increase reach and awareness at the same time. Some of the cars and concepts that would probably be present at the show include Maruti YBA compact SUV, Jaguar XE sedan, Tata Nexon SUV, Mahindra Halo electric car and Royal Enfield Himalayan. It’s expected that we would get to see the range of products from TVS – BMW joint venture. Bajaj has disappointed though and has chosen to not participate this time.
In view of sustainable development, the organisers have adopted a green theme, and have strictly prohibited the usage and distribution of plastic bags during the event, which is in-line with the state government regulations. A ‘mobility for all’ theme having a specific focus on technologies will also be observed at the event. In addition to creating awareness, it will provide a platform for discussions. The number of visitors at the component show last year was more than 71,350. It’s expected that the upcoming edition would record a significant increase.
