Jamie Hall, a graduate of the University of Michigan, has composed music for film, television and video games. After graduating college, he studied under the two-time Emmy Award winning composer Hummie Mann (A Few Good Men, The Addams Family) at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. During his study there, he learned how to score, orchestrate and record with live orchestras.
Hall has earned many accolades for his outstanding work. In 2000, Hall was a finalist in the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composers Competition, a nationwide contest. In 2004, he made top five for the same competition and was flown to Los Angeles for the Finals Competition and the opportunity to be involved with a documentary program called Settling The Score. In 2007, Jamie scored the music for a documentary short called Endangered Species, which went on to win the Gold Medal for Excellence in the “Best Impact of Music in a Short Film” category at the Park City Film Music Festival.
From 2009 to 2010, Hall edited music on several television shows including Human Target, Caprica and Trauma. He worked alongside Emmy-award winning composer Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). During his time with McCreary, Hall also had a hand in the composing of Battlestar Galactica.
In 2012, Hall collaborated with director Timothy Hines on War of the Worlds The True Story. Their third collaboration, the much anticipated10 Days In A Madhouse had a triumphantly successful premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The film follows the true story of American hero Nellie Bly, who infiltrated a women’s asylum in 1887 in order to expose the horrific conditions and abuse that occurred within. The film stars Christopher Lambert (Highlander, Mortal Kombat) and newcomer Caroline Barry.
In his free time, Hall enjoys computer programming, sports, video games, and playing the saxophone.
