Furthermore, she is a Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Desiderio attended the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York. After her graduation in 1980, she trained at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She received board certification in anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology and maintains her forefront position in the field of anesthesiology through her professional society membership with the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Desiderio believes that her successful career is attributable mostly to her hard work and also to her being very interested in her patients, along with the hospital and institution as a whole. When she is not tending to patients, she enjoys cooking.
