‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ – THE NEXT ADDITION TO FILMS FAVORITES MADE FOR MIAMI, BY MIAMI: VIOLENCE, DRUGS, AND ITS STREETS

“A MIAMI LOVE STORY // TRICOAST ENTERTAINMENT”
Grullon’s raw and gritty tale, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’, comes to VOD platforms next week, April 16th, 2018.

Los Angeles, CA – April 14, 2018 – TriCoast Entertainment and Florida Film House are thrilled to release Blademil Grullon’s (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Fade Away’) ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ to VOD platforms today as the next addition to “Films Favorites Made for Miami, by Miami: Violence, Drugs and its Streets.”

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is a the modern day West Side Story meets “Romeo & Juliet”, where two Miami teens find themselves on the gritty, raw Miami streets battling their longtime conflicting cultures, as a Haitian (‘Flo’ Lexi Delarosa) and a Dominican (‘Sandy’ Miguel “Fuego” Duran), who are forced to separate to balance their ethnic loyalties against their personal, romantic aspirations. As the first-ever film to be released as a national theatrical with the collaboration of Haitians and Dominicans, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ takes place on the urban, art streets of Miami, whose inhabitants are heavily influenced from the Caribbean Sea’s powerful cultural divide between the Haitians and Dominicans.

Produced by Marco Mall, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is gritty, raw and truthful, as it portrays Mall’s experiences growing up in the midst of Miami’s ongoing feud between the Haitian and Dominican cultures while bringing to light Miami’s urban street culture.

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ continues with its noteworthy and diverse soundtrack, featuring Pitbull and Fuego. Armando “Pitbull” Perez, Cuban and Miami-born global sensation, is noted as a bilingual phenomenon for selling over 70 million singles, performing in over 50 countries, and creating several chart-climbing songs, including ‘Timber’ and ‘Time of Our Lives’ featuring Ne-Yo. The ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ star has referenced several films including ‘Miami Vice’ as ones that embody his life growing up and experiencing the drugs, violence and urban streets of Miami. Miguel A. Duran, Jr., a.k.a. “Fuego”, the lead of Sandy, is a Dominican Republican rapper signed to Pitbull’s record label, Mr. 305 Inc. Similar to Pitbull, Fuego has continued to bridge between American hip-hop and Latino music, especially since his move to downtown Miami.

With the film’s score by well-known Haitian Actor / Composer / Soundtrack artist, Wyclef Jean, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ spreads the message of peace between Haitian and Dominican cultures, as well as peace within the Miami streets. An extremely talented artist, Jean has received several Grammy Awards, and has reached eight nominations, including those received at the Golden Globes Awards. Jean is world-known for soundtracks on ‘Hotel Rwanda’ (2004), ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (2004), and James Bond film, ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008).

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ displays how Mall, Pitbull, Fuego and Jean were able to capture their previous lives growing up in Miami and turn it into film – an artwork. As it instills hope that longtime cultural conflicts can be conquered, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ touches on the common movie theme: Miami urban culture and street crime. And the best of the best are the always the ones made in Miami themselves. ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ will be next addition to “Films Favorites Made for Miami, by Miami: Violence, Drugs and its Streets.”
