The band was formed in San Francisco in the early 1970s, and they presided over some of the most colorful years in all of rock ‘n roll in the virtual epicenter of Western creation. Naturally, internal rifts and fallouts over the years led to some band members parting ways, but terms were recently reached with former drummer Steve Smith to bring the talented stick man back into the fold for the upcoming tour.
Journey will also be joined by the Doobie Brothers, fellow stalwarts of the rock ‘n roll business born in an era where major cultural and musical shifts were being made. The bands have crossed paths several times before, and they have millions of fans in common. Both are comprised of down to Earth, levelheaded musical talents who forever cemented their place in rock ‘n roll history by thriving in an era that is widely regarded as the heyday of the rock ‘n roll genre.
The fun will begin in Irvine, California on Thursday, May 12 at the Meadows Amphitheater. From there, the tour will go through Arizona, New Mexico and make three stops in Texas before weaving up through the Midwest in the following weeks and down into the South in early June.
The tour will stretch all the way through the summer months, arriving back in the West and concluding with stops in Las Vegas, Fresno and San Diego in the final weekend of August. Because a lot of Journey fans have expendable income and know how to move quickly on opportunities, Journey 2016 tickets will move fast at TicketProcess.com.
