Arlington, VA – Boldfoot Socks, started by DC-native Brad Christmann, was officially launched on Kickstarter in early June, and the brand hit its funding goal of $10,000 in just 36 hours. The brand prides itself on four key tenets:
1. 100% Made in America– Boldfoot socks are 100% American-made, as yarns are sourced across the U.S., and all manufacturing is done just outside of Philadelphia.
2. Sock Insurance – For each pair purchased, Boldfoot offers a replacement pair within 6 months should they rip, tear or develop holes. No questions asked.
3. Awesome Socks at a Fair Price – Boldfoot offers great design, comfort and durability to both men & women alike, and they don’t charge $20+ per pair like many other brands out there (just $12 max).
4. Giving back to Military Heroes – For each pair purchased, $1 will be donated to help Veterans in need find jobs, housing, improved health and more.
Christmann, who began working on the venture over a year ago, chose socks for their “broad appeal and limitless creativity.” After struggling with boring, low quality socks for years, he decided he’d had enough and began work on his own brand. Starting with 24 designs, the socks can be pre-ordered in quantities of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 or all 24 designs.
Discussing his goals for the company, Christmann remarked, “In 12 months time, I hope to expand the product line, establish some strong retail relationships and more importantly, help thousands of consumers understand the importance of buying American-made. Just 3% of all clothing sold in the U.S. was actually made here. I’d be quite proud if I could inspire even a few thousand Americans to purchase more USA-made products.”
The campaign is set to end on July 27, and the Kickstarter page can be reached at bit.ly/boldfoot.
